Amberino is aiming at back-to-back Emancipation Stakes success
Last year’s Emancipation Stakes winner, the John Moloney-trained Amberino is looking like she will be back in 2010 to defend the title.
Moloney will first run her in the Group 2 Queen of the South Stakes in Adelaide on April 17 before he sends the six-year-old mare into the Emancipation Stakes where he will be hoping she can reproduce her form of last year and come away with back-to-back wins.
Another possible starter in the 2010 Emancipation Stakes is the Brian Smith-trained mare Jasminka. The classy four-year-old has saluted in three of her nine career starts to date and will have a few more runs in Brisbane prior to heading to Sydney.
Nominations for the 2010 Emancipation Stakes will close on Monday 19 April at midday.
The final field will then be declared on Wednesday April 21 and announced here.
