Gypsy Diamond have returned in competitive form this season and has been included by trainers Peter and Paul Snowden in 2015 Emancipation Stakes nominations.

Posting three wins and a further five minor place finishes over her 21 start career so far, Gypsy Diamond undoubtedly found career-best form to date over the 2014 autumn, highlighted by victory in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) and an agonizingly-close second in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m).

Placing third in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) and fourth in the Group 3 Newcastle Newmarket Handicap (1400m) this time in, the Not A Single Doubt mare is arguably offered her best chance of success this season in the Emancipation Stakes.

Talented mare Catkins arguably remains the highest performing Australian runner currently in work yet to break through for a maiden Group 1 victory, and has been included in 2015 Emancipation Stakes nominations as a likely final tune-up before returning to the highest level.

Securing 14 exceptional race wins over a 30 start career which has also included eleven minor place finishes, Catkins won each of the Group 2 Breeders’ Classic (1200m) and Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) first-up this time; running second to Cosmic Endeavour in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) last time out.

Scorpio Queen ran an agonizingly-close second in the Newcastle Newmarket Handicap last week, and has also been included in 2015 Emancipation Stakes nominations.

Posting credible results over a Group 1-geared preparation through the 2014 Brisbane Winter Carnival, Scorpio Queen ran mid-pack in each of her three starts during the Spring Carnival and appears primed for another impressive result at Rosehill this weekend.

Mahara was disappointing when beating only two runners home in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) last time out, but is sure to respond favourably to a step back in class for Saturday’s Emancipation Stakes.

Ending an impressive 2014 calendar with success in the Group 3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m), Mahara returned this time for a credible fifth in the Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m) and third in the Group 3 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) in her only other start prior to the Coolmore Classic.

The 2015 Emancipation Stakes final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
