Thirteen fillies and mares have been confirmed to line up for the 2016 Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
In-form mare Solicit produced a gutsy performance for third in the Coolmore Classic last time and remains outright $2.60 favourite in 2016 Emancipation Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Badawiya ($4.80) and Zanbagh ($7.50).
Will Solicit justify favouritism and win the 2016 Emancipation Stakes or will one of her many talented rivals find the line in the clear?
Zanbagh has returned to racing in slick form this time and appears as though she is primed for a return to winning form in the 2016 Emancipation Stakes. Producing a number of commendable results in her first season for John Thompson in 2015, the daughter of Bernardini resumed this time for second in the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) before running a credible fifth in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) a fortnight ago. Drawn well in barrier 5, Zanbagh has been confirmed to be partnered by in-form hoop Blake Shinn in the Emancipation Stakes.
Badawiya has experienced something of a meteoric rise to prominence and has returned to racing in typically slick form this time. Requiring a couple of runs to find condition at the beginning of her spring campaign, the Al Maher filly charged home to win the Group 3 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) on October 4th before running third in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) only one week later. Having savaged the line for a comfortable win in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) first-up this time, Badawiya could very well receive the run of the race from barrier 4 on Saturday and will be partnered by regular hoop Craig Newitt.
Casino Dancer ($71)
Stakes winner Casino Dancer is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from her first-up run this time and is undoubtedly at massive overs at current $71 Emancipation Stakes odds. The only horse currently in work for trainer Mike van Gestel, Casino Dancer finished third in each of the Filante Handicap (1600m) and Group 2 Matriarch Stakes (2000m) before winning the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes (1800m) at the conclusion of her spring campaign. Tim Clark takes the ride on the Casino Prince mare who should receive a dream run in transit from barrier 5 with only 55.5kgs in tow.
